1.Chagrin

Meaning: annoyance or distress at having failed or been humiliated.

Synonym: irritation, vexation, exasperation

Antonym: delight

Sentence: "to my chagrin, he was nowhere to be seen"


2.Demure
Meaning: (of a woman or her behavior) reserved, modest, and shy.

Synonym: modest, unassuming, meek

Antonym: brazen, shameless

Sentence: "a demure little wife who sits at home minding the house"


3.Fallacy

Meaning:  a wrong belief : a false or mistaken idea,the quality of being false or wrong

Synonym: error, misbelief, falsity

Sentence: “the once-common fallacy that girls just weren't any good at math”


4.Obsequious

Meaning: obedient or attentive to an excessive or servile degree

Synonym: sycophantic, servile

Antonym: domineering

Sentence: "they were served by obsequious waiters"


5.Raucous

Meaning: making or constituting a disturbingly harsh and loud noise.

Synonym: harsh, strident,

Antonym: soft, dulcet, peaceful, quiet, restrained

Sentence: "raucous youths"


6.Resilience

Meaning: the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.

Synonym: flexibility, pliability, suppleness

Antonym: rigidity, fragility, vulnerability, weakness

7.Sentinel

Meaning: a soldier or guard whose job is to stand and keep watch.

Meaning: a mixture of dried petals and spices placed in a bowl to perfume a room.

9.Pragmatic

Meaning: dealing with things sensibly and realistically in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations.

10.Referendum

Meaning: a general vote by the electorate on a single political question which has been referred to them for a direct decision.

Synonym: public vote, plebiscite, popular vote, ballot, poll

Sentence: "he called for a referendum on the death penalty"
